Books - Book Length Non-Novels

CLOSED TO BOOK SUBMISSIONS FOR NOW

Mark in the subject line: NON-NOVEL SUBMISSION.

We are interested in the theory, with the major results and how you back them up, along with some examples of your prose.

Since almost everything that appears in print is fiction, we distinguish between novels and non-novels. It is up to you to decide which is which. We are interested in history or social criticism or the two combined. Paul Goodman is someone we would publish. Thorstein Veblen, too. Off the beaten path histories are useful, particularly if they portray a different slant on events than is typically represented in the media mythologies.

Examples might be a new analysis of education combining Veblen and Goodman, brought up to date. A mathematical formulation of Veblen's ideas to counter the current Smithist dogma of invisible hands of free markets would be appreciated. An analysis of the failure of ceremonial magic like the Federal Reserve monetary policy, analytically detailed in terms of Veblenian and Black-Scholes Theory, would be particularly welcome.

Biographies of humans like those in the Spooky Action at a Distance part of the section about submissions to the online journals are also of interest.
