So many occasions, so little time

by Marshall Smith

Too damned many things to do this weekend, and December is already off to its Slog Pace. The thing I hate most about December is that folks work like dogs [pigs, whatever, but pick a mammal] 11 months of the year, don't bother to relax or get together with friends/acquaintances, and then *KANG!* December comes along and the Meaningful Togetherness Throttle is ratcheted up to Ramming Speed, and we *all* have to get into festive dark wool clothes, stand shoulder-to-shoulder, drink our hot spiked Wassail and eat bacon encrusted Lipid Balls while pretending to hear what the stranger in our face is saying and feigning a look of Actual Care. Standing on aching feet, sweating under our [get this!] SWEATERS, wishing only that we were at home with the lights off, the fire going, curled up next to someone we love with a glass of merlot/scotch/tea in our hand while it snows heavily outside for the entire month.

All because of the myth of some Jew we've turned into Something Else.

Feh!
